SUMMER PICNIC 2011!!!

The 13th Annual Ferret Summer Picnic!

Note: Our annual summer picnic is always held on the third Sunday in August!

Date: August 21st 2011 (the third Sunday in August)
Time: Ferret Games begin at 2:00pm sharp! (don't miss 'em!)
Place: Central Park in Burnaby, near pool area. (directions below)

Past ferret picnics have been a great success so be sure to mark your calendar and plan to attend. It's a great way for ferrets owners to meet each other, for ferrets to meet other ferrets, and for everyone to have a whole lot of fun in the process! So bring your ferrets, bring a snack, and bring your camera.

Be sure to visit our Photo section if you'd like to see the kind of fun we have at our picnics!

Directions:

The picnic will be held in one of the grassy field areas near the pool in Central Park in Burnaby. Central park is just a few minutes away (by car) from the well known Metrotown Shopping Centre.

by car:

From the intersection of Kingsway and Boundary, proceed South along Boundary (past the Stadium) and along the edge of the Park. When you see the sign for the pool area, pull in! We will have signs at the end of this parking lot to direct you to the picnic grounds. Please see the map below for general location information.

by Skytrain:

Yes, if your only transporation option is public transit you can still attend this event! Take the Skytrain to Patterson station (both the Millenium and Expo skytrain lines include this station). The station is at the corner of Kingsway and Patterson streets. The easiest way to find your way through the park is to walk down Patterson, along the edge of the park, until you come to a group of tennis courts on your right. When you come to the very first tennis court, turn right, and walk along the edge of the tennis courts. As you walk by the tennis courts, now on your left, stay on the trail as it leads into the woods. Soon you will come to a dirt road. Follow the road until you reach the clearing and arrive at the lake and pool area. You will first notice the lake, to your left. We will be in one of the grassy areas just beyond the lake. Keep your eyes peeled for ferrets! Please see the map below for general location information.
